President’s Message: Round 12

Hi All Sharks

Round 12 behind us, only 3 Rounds to go until finals. By golly the season has certainly gone by fast!  At The Sharks we pride ourselves on fielding various teams whereby all players can participate. Our goal is to get kids playing, engaging and improving in Australian Rules Football. You are all champions in my eyes for participating and being part of The Sharks Football Club. Finals and premiership are a by-product. That said, I note that we have 11 teams from U11 to Colts competing for final’s positions this year. To date it looks like three teams are through to finals with another five teams still fighting to get there. Best of luck.

GO SHARKS!!

Sharks Members Survey

Today we launch our survey/questionnaire for your attendance. Please, we as a club, require everyone to complete it. This effects every single child that competes at The Sharks. Going forward and how the club impacts on each player’s future next year and thereafter is in your hands. Don’t be a by-stander, pretend its compulsory to complete as it was to vote in the recent federal election. The committee really need to hear from the total membership. Please complete and return with the next 14 days. Feel free to add comments where required. Certain questions can and will apply to your child’s future. So, let’s get focussed and complete the survey today and get it back to us ASAP. Your children’s playing welfare and enjoyment is connected to this survey.

Raffle Tickets

Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets recently. As part of the Coleman Reserve redevelopment we have committed to raising funds. We have obtained grants from the Bendigo Bank, AFL Victoria and Cricket Victoria in finialising the development with Manningham City Council. We only need a few thousand more to meet our obligation and I’m sure we’ll get there.

Senior Colts and Life Members Dinner

As the season draws to a close The Sharks JFC would like to thank the Upper Age Colts for their time at the Club. A “Transition Dinner” from the senior juniors to junior seniors next year will be held on Tuesday the 26th of July from 7.00pm at Club Ringwood. Guest speaker Christian Petracca will share with us his transition experiences and life at the Melbourne Football Club.

The POFC will be represented by both the Seniors and U19’s captains to share the Pathway available for our young men. I look forward to hearing about the next chapter after the completion of everyone’s journey at the juniors.

Youth Girls

Registrations of interest are continuing to come in. The Sharks website is open for business, please complete your pre-enrolment for 2017 now. During early/mid-September almost 30 primary schools will be taking part in skill sessions and games at Domeney. This youth girls school program is an inception by The Sharks JFC. Bring it on.

Auskick

Thanks to our coordinators and all the parents for helping out during the season. The Colts will be attending on the 30th July. I hope all our young Auskickers have enjoyed learning new skills during each Saturday. Our final clinic is on the 13th of August. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there.

Burger Night – Sponsors Night

Our final burger night (prior to the 11st September AGM), is on Sunday the 7th of August. We will be holding our annual “Club Sprint” handicap event. Every team will be represented. Of course, the giant slide, raffle and plenty of food will be available for all.

As a gesture of thank you to our sponsors, the club, will be putting on food and drinks at no charge for them. Please make yourself known to committee members to receive your wristband for complementary drinks. Our Sponsors are integral in keeping registration fees down and helping to purchase much needed training materials. Thank you to all our sponsors who have supported our great club during 2016 and we look forward to your assistance during 2017.
