President’s Message: Round 2

Hi All Sharks,

It was a long time between games, but the wait was worth it.

I would like to think that the Sharks were pioneers in recognising the ANZAC legend within the YJFL, with all club now recognising the people that fought to provide us with what we have today.  The lines of solidarity, the reading of the ode, the last post and the minutes silence are all but a small gesture for what these surviving and fallen hero’s provided us as a nation.  Thankyou one and all for you efforts and respect to this day.

Burger Night – next Sunday!

This Sunday 4 May 2014 marks the second of our Burger Nights.  The usual applies – bbq, drinks, raffle prizes, fun and socialising are all on the menu – so it would be great to see you all come along.

Sharks Improve their Technology

In the next week or so you may notice some changes to the Sharks website format.  Our website editor – Shaun – has been hard at work converting the existing website to a new form that improves compatibility with mobile phones, tablets, etc.  I will send you an email when it is launched and seek your feedback once you have had a look.

YJFL Grading Process

Each year the YJFL embark on a grading process that considers last year’s results, information provided by each club at the commencement of the season, and an assessment of results during the first four games of the season.  On assessment team’s maybe moved up or down a Division.

In the past this process has created difficulties for the Sharks Committee, so as a result I encourage you all to familiarise yourself with the YJFL By Laws – Schedule A – via the Sharks webpage under the Policies tab.

Sharks Survey

The Sharks will also launching a Membership Survey with our new website application and I encourage you all to have a look and provide your comments.  The future direction of this wonderful club will be based on your comments and feedback.

Summary

If at any stage during the season you wish to raise issue with me – positive or negative – please feel free to do so either personally or via the telephone.
