President’s Letter: Edition 4

Hi All Sharks

Round 4

The YJFL Grading for 2018 has now reached its conclusion. We will know the positioning of teams that have made a request to change divisions within the next 24 hours. Once this knowledge is at hand we shall inform all team managers to pass on to their respective teams.

Congratulations to the teams who have performed well during this process. Also, congratulations to the teams who have tried hard but have been outclassed due to being in the wrong division. Your commitment to complete each week and play for your teammates is exemplary.

The YJFL follow their policies and agendas during this period and it’s always difficult when there are blowouts in scores. Ah by golly I’m glad grading is now complete and we look forward to a more competitive season ahead.

Sometimes football reflects life in teaching us various lessons and how we, as a collective, deal with them even if not fully understanding why? Loyalty to team mates, allowing ‘process’ to playout, being able to communicate clearly and trusting are just a few.

Bring on Season 2018 in its true format and may all of our players enjoy being on the park each week representing the Sharks Junior Football Club.

Sharks Pink Ribbon Day – Mothers’ Day – Sponsored by Warren Glen

This weekend we celebrate all the mums in our lives.

Every year around Mother’s Day Sharks JFC supports Breast Cancer. Every child will have the option to wear pink tape armbands in support of Breast Cancer. Please see your TM for the tape.

Every TM will also have a donation bag for anyone who wishes to donate a gold coin towards Breast Cancer.

For those teams playing at home (Stintons and Domeney) and for the Fri night Auskick and U8/U9 event there will be donation buckets set up. Our Auskickers start at 5.00pm.

As a thank you for all the work our Sharks mums do every mum of a registered child will go into the draw to win Warran Glen vouchers. Looking for that perfect Mother’s Day gift? Head to Warran Glen Garden Centre and Café for beautiful personal and homeware products.

The tapes has been donated by JNJ Electrics.

SharKwiz – Trivia Night! Proudly sponsored by Pipe Hunter

The Pipe Hunter SharKwiz 2018 is fast approaching… Saturday 2nd June (folks, less than 4 weeks away) @ 7.00pm at Domeney Reserve. Whilst this is our primary fundraising event for the year, the SharKwiz is an informal evening and a great opportunity to get to know the families of your teams, whilst having a bit of fun. We need each team to book at least one table of 10.

The SharKwiz organising committee are seeking auction items for the SharKwiz. A flyer explaining the request for any prizes/auction items that the Sharks Community are willing to donate is displayed on our webpage.

Bookings can be made via TeamApp or online. For more information please refer to the invitation circulated by your Team Managers.

For information please contact your Team Manager and if still unsure then our co-ordinator Nina on merchandise@sharksjfc.org.au

Pipe Hunter combines trenchless technology with years of experience and superior quality materials to provide permanent solutions with minimal disruption and without the need for destructive excavation.

Burger Night Sunday 17th June – Bendigo Bank Buddies Night

The next burger night (only 3 for the year) is the Colts/U8’s & U9’s Bendigo Bank Buddies Night. They will all be hosting the night, putting on clinic demonstrations and cooking for us all. So, just giving everyone a heads up on the date and parties involved. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Summary

Looking forward to Round 5 for our juniors. If at any stage you have any queries then please don’t hesitate to contact myself.

Go Sharks!!
