President’s Report: Round 11

Hi All Sharks,

I trust all Players, Mums and Dads enjoyed their break over the holidays.  I know the committee welcomed the chance to charge their batteries and put their feet up for a few days.  Well, hasn’t time flown we are into out last month of home and away games before the finals commence on the 13th August.  So much to do, so little time!

Due to holidays and families still away, I came out of retirement on the weekend and filled on as Team Manager for the U15s.  Thankfully, most of the roles and requirements had been pre-set up before my attendance on Sunday.  Still the game was fast paced as I relived just how much our volunteers actually do.  By the end of the match, I was in awe over how much out Team Managers contribute.  Thank you all parents for the support roles you’re involved in, particularly Team Managers – you are magnificent.  As a big thank you, the Grand in Warrandyte is offering all of our Team Managers a voucher at the end of the year for your sacrifice of time and effort inputted.

Thankfully, I’ve now retired again and am happy just being “pres!”

From our Committee’s point of view, we know the season is fast coming to an end.  During the next few weeks, we have our social night, Colts Dinner, Team Managers wrap up, Coaches meeting, YJFL Directors/President’s meeting and committee meeting then finals – Phew!!

The last round on 6th August will see our U10s partake in a lightening Premiership run by the YJFL.  Go for it U10s, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the day, play well and make the Club proud of your efforts.  We look forward to seeing you at our last burger night after it.

During the last month it has been great to see the PONRPJFC represented by Players in the YJFL selected teams taking on other leagues.  Well done to our Rep Players who participated in and won their grand finals.

Committee

Calling our younger age Mums & Dads.  Next year will see the biggest shake up of our committee for a number of years.  Currently, we have a number of sitting members who do not have children playing at the Sharks any longer amongst others retiring.  A great opportunity to understudy a role and step up into a role, making a difference in children’s lives. A truly worthwhile endeavour and fantastic knowing that you can help make your mark in the Community.
