Volunteer of the Year Award
sharrington
Stephen Harrington,
our President has been awarded the Manningham Council’s Volunteer of the Year

Stephen has been involved in the club since 2001 when he setup our Auskick and was Co-ordinator and then moved to the Sharks committee. Please see his interview below.

The purpose of the Volunteer of the Year Awards is to recognise, promote and celebrate the contribution of volunteers to Manningham. The Awards also provide the local community with an opportunity to acknowledge and value the service provided to them by volunteers.

The award is in line with the Council’s Volunteer Policy (2005), which provides an opportunity for Council to recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of volunteers.

A I responded to an approach from Father Kevin Mogg at Holy Spirit to be involved in the establishment of the Sharks Auskick.

would not get at some other clubs.

The chance to meet parents and players from all age levels, and the friendships
that have developed from my involvement.

Q What do you like the worst about your current role at the club?
A Dealing with the small number of parents who put self-interest ahead of team and club interest.
