2005 Best Auskick to Junior Football Club Pathway Program – Victoria

On Friday 10th Feb, 2006 at the Annual Football Victoria Members Dinner, attended by over 300 Football Victoria members at the AFL Hall of Fame and Sensation, Park Orchards/North Ringwood Parish Junior Football Club and the Park Orchards Auskick won a state award for the Best Auskick to Junior Football Club Pathway Program.

This award is selected from nominations by all Victorian metropolitan and country football leagues and regions. It was accepted by Park Orchards/North Ringwood Parish Junior Football Club President, Stephen Harrington and Auskick Co-ordinator, Paul Schroder who paid tribute to the people who had the foresight in late 2000 to get Park Orchards Auskick up and running, and to see it now blossom into a multi-award winning Auskick, in particular to Trevor Barr, who has been integral in the success of the Park Orchards Auskick.

So successful has the pathway program been that the number of teams fielded by the Park Orchards North Ringwood Parish Junior Football Club has increased from 8 teams in 2000, to a record 14 teams in 2006. The club has a philosophy based on development and fun and it continues to grow each year.

Whilst the emphasis is not on winning, in 2004 the club won 5 premierships in the Yarra Junior Football League, a League record, and the Park Orchards Auskick has twice won the Eastern Region Award for the Best Auskick Co-ordinator, as well as Best Auskick Coach.
